The record for fastest selling PC game was achieved by the World of Warcraft expansion pack “Cataclysm” on December 13th. It sold over 3.3 million copies in its first 24 hours. Unsurprisingly, the previous record-holder was another WOW expansion - in November 2008 “Wrath of the Lich King” sold 2.8 million copies in its first day of sale. Third place is also occupied by...you guessed it...a WOW expansion - 2007’s “Burning Crusade” managed 2.4 million copies in the same time period!
