The man who created the Atari video game system also founded Chuck E. Cheese’s.

In creating the restaurant franchise, founder Nolan Bushnell wanted to merge food and with his other major interest, video games. At the time, Bushnell believed that there were not enough family-oriented establishments where kids could go to play video games. Thus in May 1977, the first Chuck E. Cheese’s was built in San Jose, CA. The franchise has now grown to an impressive degree - there are now over 500 restaurants located in 48 states and 6 countries!
