New Super Mario Bros. Becomes DS' First Six-Million-Seller In Japan
Nearly five years after its first release, 2D platformer New Super Mario Bros. has
become the first Nintendo DS game to sell over six million copies in Japan.
According to data from Famitsu publisher Enterbrai, the game has sold precisely 6,015,255 units through December 26, making it the biggest game on the system.
Through September 2010, Nintendo reports the game had sold more than 24 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling game on the system and one of the top-selling games of all time.
